DocuMap’s solution helps our customers find their technical information in a few clicks.

When Documap’s founder became a plant engineer, he found a “print room” full of thousands of drawings.  They had tried to modernize and had all of the drawings stored electronically, but to find the actual file number and location of the drawing one needed to search using a database.  The problem was, any number of small problems would usually make the drawing nearly impossible to find: perhaps a typo in the query or database or maybe the description was so simple that the query return hundreds of results!  They needed to find and use drawings and manuals, but the process was slow.  And like many facilities, the ability to access machine or maintenance information quickly could be the difference between profitability and expensive downtime.

The wheels started turning and the concept for DocuMap was born.  No word or text searches are required. The user just drills down to the desired drawing or part information by clicking on views of the plant, line, machine, parts, etc.  Now DocuMap has grown into a drawing and information storage platform available anywhere a browser can be used. DocuMap seeks to help our customers improve productivity through finding information quickly and easily.  That’s why our motto is “Mapping your Documents for Amazing Simple Access”.
